Date range behavior
The date range setting (configured during setup) filters transactions by transaction date. It has no effect on lists, the chart of accounts, or items — those are always extracted in full.
| Data category | Affected by date range? |
|---|---|
| Company & preferences | No — always extracted |
| Chart of Accounts | No — always extracted |
| Customers, Vendors, Employees, etc. | No — always extracted |
| Items (all types) | No — always extracted |
| Transactions | Yes — filtered by date if set |
Even if you configure a date range of 2023–2024, your full customer list, all accounts, and all items will still be included in the snapshot. Only transaction records are windowed by date.
If you want a complete history, leave both date range fields blank. If you are doing a partial migration or only need recent data, set a date range to reduce extraction time and snapshot size.
